I realized I had to RS Gold write about Swampletics a few weeks ago while viewing an Old School Runescape Twitch stream. The streamer, B0aty, was idly harpooning sharks at the game's Fishing Guild when a different player strolled up wearing an extremely distinctive ensemble. They started spamming emotes on the fishing pier, and within seconds every single player in the Fishing Guild, not to mention the entire Twitch chat of several thousand viewers, captured the joke and burst into a chorus of PogChamps. Every last one of them was chanting the exact same name: Swampletics. In other words, Swampletics is a Runescape personality who cannot trade with other players, shop any items in the bank, oreven -- and this is the real kicker--leave the swampy area of Morytania. Settled has to utilize the extremely limited resources available in Morytania to advance, and he must do everything on his own with just 28 inventory spaces--as opposed to countless bank slots--to work with. Settled's goal would be to strengthen Swampletics to the stage he can complete the Theater of Blood raid located within Morytania, which is no small effort even on a maxed-out character with the best equipment without any limitations. You may think he will only get a group of maxed personalities to carry him throughout the raid, but you'd be wrong. As Settled clarified in a recent movie, his eventual raid team might have to coincide with the gear and things he's on Swampletics, so the strength of his account will be the deciding factor in the raid's success. I have been after Old School Runescape for a very long time--hell, I have been after games for quite a long time--and I've never seen fan-made content capture fire in this way. Every single episode of this Swampletics series has over 300,000 viewpoints, and the most recent episode frees up over 200,000 viewpoints within nine hours. To put this in perspective, the Old School Runescape subreddit has 331,000 subscribers. Settled's subscriber count has more than tripled--from 52,000 to 183,000--in 3 months and change. The attach rate on Swampletics would embarrass The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I speak no hyperbole once I say everyone playing Old School Runescape now has heard or watched of Swampletics. As a regular viewer of OSRS Gold For Sale this show, it's not hard to see why it's caught on. Settled has produced a customized game style that's both staggeringly restrictive and exceptionally inventive. His banking, trading, and geographic limitations force him to explore every corner of Morytania and leverage unconventional, and frequently overlooked techniques in order to achieve things most players take for granted.
